Here at Lake District Mobility's office, we were fighting back tears as we saw this post on our Facebook page from Catherine, a recent visitor to Whinlatter.
Catherine told us that she had been all set and ready for a flat path and lunch when she turned up with her husband at the Whinlatter Visitor Centre. As her husband enquired about wheelchair friendly paths, Jane, one of the centre's helpful visitor gurus, got her on the Tramper instead!
Catherine suspected that Jane had no idea just how much this meant to her. She used hike and climb all over The Lake District until she lost the use of her legs. Catherine's recent visit was the first time she has made it up a fell in 8 years.
The picture she posted expresses the reason we do what we do and there really is nothing more we can say.
Thank you Catherine for your message. We wish you many more happy adventures!
