This Sunday, 12th September, sees the official opening of Orrest Head Accessible Path near Windermere station.
Everyone is invited to join the walk/roll up the hill from 11.30am onwards, with a bring your own picnic at the top with speeches and formal ribbon cutting at 1pm. You may even spot our own Penny there, so do say hello!
This path is the national park’s newest 'Miles Without Stiles' route and is classed as 'accessible for many'. It is suitable for families with pushchairs, motorised wheelchair users and assisted wheelchair users. Our congratulations go to Windermere and Bowness Town Council and the Lake District National Park Authority, who have worked together on this project.
You can find out more about the path and the work on www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/orresthead
