We are thrilled to announce that Grizedale Forest, our fifth hire site, is now offering Tramper hire to its visitors!
Setting up a Tramper in a new location is a big team effort. We only achieved this because of the hard work and commitment by Forestry England staff at Grizedale. A massive thank you to Sally, Rachel and Becky at Grizedale for their drive to make even more visitors welcome at this beautiful location. The Tramper itself was funded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, The Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust, The Hadfield Trust and The Nineveh Charitable Trust. We are very grateful for their financial support. Without it we would not have been able to set up this amazing route.
Located south of Hawkshead amidst the fells, this forest park offers a wilderness-like escape, as the Tramper takes you away from the hustle and bustle on this 5,5mile/9km route. You will find yourself up in the hills, overlooking fells and woodland over great distances and enjoy the views over Wood Moss Tarn. You may also spot dragonflies, buzzards and other wildlife on your adventures here.
Grizedale Visitor Centre offers great facilities and plenty of activities to keep the whole family happy. In addition to walking and cycling routes, visitors can enjoy the children’s adventure playground, Go Ape activities, bike and Segway hire and even art exhibitions. Contact Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre to book your Tramper hire on 0300 067 4495.

We hope you are as excited about this route as we are and enjoy this new Tramper adventure!
