Belsay Hall & Gardens

Belsay Hall and Gardens, an Outdoor Mobility Tramper hire site location.

Belsay Hall & Gardens

Times: 10:30am and 1:30pm, 2 Trampers available for each slot

Distance: 2.9km / 1.8miles
 

Gradient: Gravel paths with no steep gradients.        

Narrow sections and busy paths at times

The Tramper route, in the grounds of Belsay Hall, takes you on a journey from the magnificent Belsay Hall itself through the spectacular Quarry Garden, to the medieval castle. Here you will find a café in the old stable for refreshments and the fantastic adventure playground. On your return journey you will visit the rejuvenated formal gardens near the hall.

The Tramper cannot be taken indoors but if you would like to visit the Hall there is a wheelchair available at admissions and for the castle there is a wheelchair available in the stable café.

 
There are two Trampers available at Belsay Hall. Both have hire slots are at 10:30am and 1:30pm. 
The sessions each last for 2hr 30min.

 

A valid English Heritage Membership or Belsay Hall & Gardens Ticket is required to access the Tramper (these can be purchased on site). Disabled visitors and members can bring an accompanying companion free of charge. 

All Tramper users must stay on the designated Tramper route path and must be accompanied

You need to be an Outdoor Mobility member to book a Tramper.

If you are not yet a member please select and pay for the Membership option that suits you best.

Before you arrive:

  • Before arriving at the site, you have two options to book your session. 

  • Outdoor Mobility Members, or those who wish to be, can book online following this link: book the Tramper

  • If you wish to use the Tramper as a single use without purchasing a membership you can book free of charge directly with Belsay Hall & Gardens by emailing Belsay.Hall@english-heritage.org.uk. Bookings via this channel must be made 48hrs hours in advance and hirers must ensure they have confirmation before traveling.

  • If you would like the Tramper brought to your car please contact Belsay Hall in advance or request this at the admissions desk on arrival.
